education
Alongside community development and environmental responsibility, education is the other key pillar to our success.
Our target audiences can be summarised into the following groups:
The Tourists
We believe that this project will raise the bar for sustainable tourism around the world, but we also believe that it cannot happen quietly - people need to know about us and people need to talk about us.
Throughout the property our efforts to be environmentally conscious will not be hidden, rather they will be on show. If the tourists can see how a sustainable operation can be managed, then they can talk about it and they can replicate it.
In addition to this, and its partnership with established educators, we will be running workshops and activities to highlight how luxury travel can grow alongside environmental responsibility.
The locals
To ensure the project has the maximum positive impact possible, we need the most people ‘on side’ as possible. The local population will have an outmatched impact in this regard.
Not only will we be involving local businesses and contractors at every stage of the build an operation, but we will also be opening community outreach programs and education events.
We have begun work with a local organisation to establish a service center, initially this will operate as a waste collection and sorting center as well as a moped garage. These enterprises have been selected as they are deemed to have the greatest initial impact on their lifestyles. In time, this operation can be expanded to meet future requirements.
Our education events will initially revolve around waste management and fishing & farming practices but will be expanded into sustainable forestry and the establishment of local businesses.
